Question
What is pleasure?
Position‹2 of 3›

Being amused or enjoying yourself

This position holds that pleasure is a matter of enjoyment rather than of getting anything: it is the quality an experience has while it is being had, which is why amusement and absorption can be pleasant without satisfying any want at all.

Supporting arguments · 2

  1. Getting what you want often brings no pleasure, which shows the two come apart
  2. Absorption is pleasant while nothing at all is being obtained
