Gretchen Schrock-Jacobson

Gretchen Schrock–Jacobson is an instructor in the Department of Political Science at The Pennsylvania State University. She received her Ph.D. in political science from Penn State in 2010 with concentrations in international relations, comparative politics, and political methodology. She received her B.A. in international relations and French from Bucknell University. Her research focuses on the intersection of identity politics and international conflict, specifically the effect of nationalism on international conflict behavior. To understand this relationship, Mrs. Schrock–Jacobson have collected original data on the existence and type of state-level nationalism and have used a variety of quantitative statistical techniques. Her teaching interests include not only identity politics and war, but also international relations theory, research methods, and other topics in international relations and comparative politics.
