After becoming active in the anime community as a teenager, Justin Sevakis founded Anime News Network in 1998 and operated the website until late 1999 when he moved to New York City to attend film school at School of Visual Arts. While still in school he was hired by Central Park Media as their first in-house video and subtitle editor. After graduation, he joined the startup ImaginAsian Entertainment (and their fledging TV network ImaginAsianTV, now MNet), where he wore many hats, including video engineer, DVD author, acquisitions and programming, business development and theatrical release manager. He returned to Anime News Network in 2008 where he ran the site's short-lived video section and contributed to many columns and podcasts. In 2012 he started video/DVD/Blu-ray production company MediaOCD, which has produced many anime releases. He resides in Los Angeles.
