Nancy Wang Yuen is an associate professor and chair of the Department of Sociology at Biola University. Writing about race and ethnicity in media, Nancy Wang Yuen is the author of Reel Inequality: Hollywood Actors and Racism and co-author of Tokens on the Small Screen: Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Prime Time and Streaming Television. She has appeared on Dr. Phil, BBC World TV, Teen Vogue, New York Times, and Washington Post among others. She is a guest writer at Elle, HuffPost, Remezcla and Cherrypicks. Nancy has received grants from the National Science Foundation, California Council for the Humanities, and the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. She has a PhD in sociology and a BA in English (creative writing, poetry) — both from the University of California, Los Angeles.
