Prof. Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi

Sucharit Bhakdi is a German specialist in microbiology, virology, and infection epidemiology. He is professor emeritus at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and was head of the Institute for Medical Microbiology and Hygiene there from 1991 to 2012.
