- Question
- Are people born gay?
This position holds that we simply do not know whether people are born gay. It argues that no conclusive evidence has settled the question of genetics and sexual orientation, and that the very fluidity of the term 'gay' makes a definitive answer hard even to formulate.

- The word is still out on genetics and homosexualityAlthough numerous studies have been conducted, none have come to a definitive conclusion. Between small data sets and conflicting results, the current studies show no conclusive evidence.
- People can't be born "gay" if the word itself is fluid. The terms "gay", "straight" and "bisexual" don't have clear meanings. People change their sexuality and even "experiment" with relationships outside of their sexual preference. If we can't define the terms, how can we trace their origins?
