The argument

Tablets have a larger diversity of uses than simply electronic textbooks. More and more software are now available for classroom use, and expands the possibilities for teaching and learning. First, tablets can accommodate learning with flexible capacity. For example, in the event that schools are unexpectedly closed, they can allow students to continue learning through telecommunications software and electronic textbooks at home. Traditional textbooks alone are insufficient for students to learn independently from in such cases. Second, tablets allow the diversification of teaching styles in the classroom. While traditional paper textbooks can only facilitate reading, highlighting and revision exercises, tablets can do all of that and more. For example, software such as Kahoot and Edmodo can facilitate interactive and collaborative learning in the classroom with ease. Quizzes and online discussions through these kinds of software can measure students’ level of knowledge without placing too much pressure on them.
