Context

Even a month after the election, Trump and Giuliani are filing recount and fraud suits. They claim there is solid evidence that the left manipulated the election. However, media outlets have declared Joe Biden the winner.

The Argument

Trump and his lawyers have presented valid evidence of consequential voter fraud. Many witnesses have come forward and they are carrying on lawsuits in various states. Just because media outlets have declared Biden the winner, that doesn't mean it is true. The electoral college makes that decision.

Counter arguments

Biden won by millions of votes and even if Trump won a couple suits, it will not make a difference. Additionally, many suits have already been struck down due to lack of evidentiary support.

Framing

Constitutional Framework - The USA is based in the constitution, which garnets a fair and democratic election. Sitting presidents have the right to demand recounts, and Trump is backing up his claims with evidence.

Premises

Fair election is key to US democracy.

Rejecting the premises

Nothing about the neoliberal society is "fair" -- the electoral college needs to be overhauled before we consider small measures like recounts.
